A screwdriver could be useful. Alcohol to raise your temperature and help you sweat it out, orange juice to give you an immunity boost with vitamin C. But make sure it won’t interfere with medications. Get plenty of rest and water, feel better soon!

Sadly, I do not think we have any OJ, and we still have no booze in this house. @_@ And alcohol will interact with pain meds, anyway, so.  IDK.  Maybe I should just take some acetaminophen PM and call it a night, because then I can take some Nyquil later too, because Nyquil has acetaminophen in it…

Aaand then I will be loopy as hell and it’ll be hilarious. Woo!

(The internet says that acetaminophen and ibuprofin are safe to take together.  It says that you have to be careful mixing either with naproxen sodium, though.  I don’t trust the internet.)

If it helps in any way, I have taken acetaminophen and ibuprofin together, and come out alive and no worse for wear. Sometimes, the internet can be helpful, but I check with several different sources, especially ones run by professional medical organizations.

Anonymous asked: Bone cleaning tip - instead of bleaching at the end you can also put a teaspoon full of laundry detergent powder in the water and mix well before putting the specimen in the container and heating at a constant temperature, these will need to be rinsed and reinstated into the water (sans detergent, it is only needed the first time unless flesh proves particularly difficult to remove) until all the flesh has come off, once bones rinse completely clean they can be placed on newpaper to dry

biomedicalephemera:

Yeah, I forgot about that - laundry detergent has a lot of the same ingredients as the soda salts that are used professionally, though it’s definitely a bit less caustic.

I’m not really sure why this is such a popular subject (do you people have rotting limbs hanging around your place or something?), but here are a few bone cleaning basics:

And, you know, there’s always Google.
